The first hour of a day off sets its entire temperature. Morning news podcasts and algorithmic feeds are content — they want things from you. Morning music should want nothing: warm, unhurried, and fine to ignore.
What we program for mornings
Day scenes with soft light, gentle piano and bossa, slightly brighter than our night rotation but never caffeinated. The clock keeps brunch plans honest without a single notification.
Build the ritual
Station on before the coffee starts; volume low enough to talk over. That's the entire recipe. It's the closest thing to a Sunday paper the TV can do.
